To boldly go where no tree has gone before... The Jonsteen Company, a California-based tree company and nursery, specializes in cultivating Giant Sequoia and Coast Redwood trees. Founded in America's National Parks around 1992, we are on a mission to share the knowledge, joy, and experience of trees with everyone.
All our trees are seed-grown at our nursery on California's Redwood Coast, which is inspected and licensed by the California Department of Agriculture. Planting a tree is a simple, optimistic act that makes a profound difference now and in the future of our planet. Trees absorb CO₂, produce life-giving oxygen, and improve air quality. They moderate temperatures, reduce soil erosion, flooding, and water pollution, and provide wildlife habitat and food. Trees also have a positive emotional impact, making us feel better.
Situated deep within the last stronghold of the ancient redwood forest on California's north coast, we are veritable redwood specialists. From California's massive Giant Sequoias and towering Coast Redwoods to the Jurassic Dawn Redwood from China, redwood trees are undoubtedly one of the great wonders of our planet. Our tree seedlings are available in three sizes: Small (approximately 1 year old, with a root plug about the size of a test tube), Medium (approximately 1 to 2 years old, with a root plug about the size of a small soup can), and XL (approximately 2 to 3 years old, grown in roughly 3-gallon containers). The dynamic nature of actively growing trees and the tremendous variation between species' growth rates mean we rely on the cubic volume of a seedling's root mass to determine its size. Within each size, there is minor variance.
In addition to our live tree seedlings, we offer Seed Grow Kits, Tree Collections, and Bulk Nursery Deals, all focused on our specialty Redwood trees. Our products are 100% guaranteed - if your seedling perishes, we are happy to provide a replacement small-sized seedling for just the cost of shipping and handling.
